Our trustees steer the charity and are responsible for our funds

The NHS Retirement Fellowship is a charity registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

The Board of Trustees is responsible for overseeing the charity supported by the National Council, which is made up of regional representatives from our membership. They are supported by our chief executive John Rostill and a small team of part time staff.

The Fellowship was founded in 1978 by Miss Irene Mary James, OBE, who was our first Chairman and President
