Do I have to be fully retired to join the NHS Retirement Fellowship?
No. You can be retired, semi-retired, retire and return or even just have retirement on your radar as you start to consider your options. If retirement is part of your life then you are welcome to join and get involved with the NHS Retirement Fellowship.
How much does it cost?
Are you a charity?
Yes we are a charity and we’ve been operating for nearly 50 years. We’re recognised by NHS England, NHS Scotland and NHS Wales.
Can you help me with my NHS Pension?
Unfortunately not. We’re legally not able to do this but we can point you in the right direction. And if you join, we have a number of financial advisors and other services which you can access at a discounted rate who can help support you.
Can my partner join at the same time?
Yes of course – we have many couples in branches across the country and as part of our national network.
Can I access the special travel insurance offer you have?
Once you have joined as a member – either as a national member or in a branch – you can access the full range of benefits we offer. Our travel insurance is our top offer and provides annual worldwide cover for most members if you join before the age of 74 subject to just a couple of medical exemptions. Read more about our benefits here.
What if there isn’t a branch in my area?
We really want to see branches in all parts of England, Scotland and Wales and we’re sorry if there isn’t one near you. You can still join as a national member and be part of our community. If you want to help us set up a branch in your area, that would be great! Please contact info@nhsrf.org.uk and we can put you in touch with the right person.
Do I have to be a member to join the Facebook page?
No not at all. If retiring from the NHS or social care is something that you are part of then you can follow the Facebook page although you won’t be able to access the offers that are promoted there unless you sign up as a member.
I had a query with the travel insurance policy. Both the Fellowship and CSIS were very helpful in response and gave excellent service.
