About the NHS Retirement Fellowship
We were began in 1978 when nurse Irene James realised that many NHS staff would lose their connections when they retired and the value of keeping those relationships. We now have more than 100 branches across England, Scotland and Wales and are always on the look out to develop more! We also have a growing number of national members.
We offer fun, friendship and fellowship in our branches and beyond, a voice for retired NHS and social care staff and volunteers and a developing range of benefits and discounts tailored to our members.
About us
Meet our team
We have a small staff team who all work remotely part time across the country.
Members Council
Our Members Council is made up of regional representatives from around the country who form the voice of our membership and ensure members are at the heart of everything we do.
Board of Trustees
Like all charities, we have a Board of Trustees who lend their skills, experience and expertise for the benefit of the Fellowship and our members. Some of them are also members of the Fellowship.
I joined the NHSRF in 2012 three weeks after I retired. I enjoyed meeting up with old friends and new and quickly became involved with the Scottish Federation, now chairing it. I have attended a few conferences over the years and enjoyed them all, being able to network with likeminded people up and down the country. The thing I have most enjoyed is being a country rep for Scotland and attending Members Council meetings.
