The NHSRF attended the recent RCN Retired Members’ Conference in London to celebrate the activism of retired members across the Royal College of Nursing (RCN).
Trustee Janine Brookes and staff member Lynda McKie attended along with approximately 80 delegates. The pair spoke with delegates to make them aware of the Fellowship and to provide them with information and advice about joining.
Lynda added: “It was a really great event and there were lots of ideas that we took away around how we can promote the NHS Retirement Fellowship further. It was also good to hear the enthusiasm retired health professionals have to continue to stay involved and connected. It was great to meet with nurses who are current members and to hear their enthusiasm for the NHSRF.”
Harry Eccles, Head of Activist Engagement told the Fellowship: “Your presence brought real value to the event, helping to create an engaging and informative exhibition space for our delegates. The resources, insights, and enthusiasm you shared made a lasting impression and contributed significantly to the success of the day.”
Janine and Lynda both felt the day was beneficial and hope to have the opportunity to collaborate with the RCN in the future.
