The South Manchester branch of the NHSRF was formed in 1984, and this year celebrates its 40th anniversary. There are more than 60 members, many of whom come along and enjoy the regular monthly meetings. These usually begin with a short update on members, events and outings, and the sharing of information which is of benefit to all; this is followed by a visiting speaker or some form of entertainment, and the meeting concludes with the opportunity to catch up with friends, old and new, with a tea or coffee and biscuits. At each meeting there is a second-hand book table, and a raffle. Suggestions for talks and activities are welcomed by the committee. From April 2024 the door charge will be ?3 per member, guests do not pay this charge on their first visit. Car parking here is free. Details of the 2024 programme can be seen by clicking on the More Info button.

The Tameside branch of the NHSRF is a newly formed branch within the fellowship and is still in the growing and nurturing stage of development. The members are all engaging in this transformation and it is both challenging and rewarding. As a new member you will be active in in this transformation and can make the group as you would like it to be for the future. We all come together every last Monday of the month and start the group with an update of members issues, events and outings and the sharing of information which is of benefit to all of us. This is normally followed by a speaker or some form of entertainment or as the weather improves an outing of interest. The meeting concludes with a catch up of new and old friends over refreshments and we reminisce about the good and bad times we all experienced whilst working within the NHS. We welcome non-NHS members who would like to socialise, chat and engage in relevant activities. Our door charge is ?2.00 per member which covers our room costs and refreshments, we do not charge guests on their first visit. Car parking is free and there is always capacity.
