Appointment of Rod How as NHSRF Chief Operating Officer
The NHS Retirement Fellowship is pleased to welcome Rod How as our new chief operating officer.
Rod, who lives just outside Taunton in Somerset, joins the Fellowship from the NHS where he has held a variety of finance positions including Director of Finance with NHS South, Central and West
Commissioning Support Unit until he retired in December 2023. Rod has also worked in social care and integrated health and care organisations.
Rod said: “I am very pleased to be joining the NHS Retirement Fellowship at such a critical point in its strategic transformation and am looking forward to working with Mike and the staff team as well as the Members Council and trustees and getting to know members.
Having spent 35 years working within health and social care I am excited to have the opportunity to support former colleagues in achieving an enjoyable and fulfilling retirement. I bring a wealth of experience in organisational management but also strong public service values and a caring approach to the people I am supporting. My priorities will be to support the organisation’s strategy of growing its membership and increasing its offer to members as well as improving our internal processes and systems to ensure the organisation functions efficiently.”
Rod is married with three children. When he isn’t working for the Fellowship, Rod spends his time watching football, following Bristol City at home and away games.
Mike Seaton, Chief Executive of the Fellowship, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Rod to the team and I think the range of skills and experience he brings is just what we need to help us deliver the next stage of our five year strategy with a particular emphasis on how we can develop our financial systems to make things easier and more effective for our branches and members.”
