|About our branch|
Oxford branch of the Fellowship is a lively group of around 150 members who enjoy a full programme of visits, outings, walks, lunches and meetings.
In the summer we go on coach trips to houses, gardens, beaches, museums, wild life reserves and other places of interest.
In winter we run local visits to some of the undiscovered places that we seldom go to (because we live so close) but which reflect life and history in Oxfordshire, like a brewery and a bus museum.
Several times a year we arrange lunches at a local bowls club which provide a welcome opportunity to meet and talk and enjoy each other’s company.
Once a month we go on walks of about five miles followed by a pub lunch. The county is blessed with a rich variety of countryside and it still retains enough village pubs to stop in at journey’s end.
Most months we have meetings with interesting speakers or entertainers, breaking in January and August for our traditional Christmas and summer lunches.
We raise money for charity and we support one another through our welfare officer and by friendship links, many of which stem from days together in the NHS, and others from friendships made since joining the branch
Joining us is easy. Just come to a meeting and you£ll be made welcome.
